During today's brief waterfowl count in Prospect, the persistent Iceland Gull just loves the ice.
Thanks to KathyToomey, assisting in the count, the Iceland Gull was seen resting in the lake center, in line with 3 sisters islands. Even from our west shore vantage, the gull in the scope gave us a good view .
Other than that great gull, there wasn't much to boast regarding the count. The frozen lake saw to that with only open water at the west shore. A Ring necked Duck hilights the paltry list that lacked diversity.
But it's the story everywhere with surprisingly low duck numbers here on Brooklyn waters.
