- Comments: "Light morph adult. Perched in a tall elm above the Wellhouse picnic tables. Initially ID'd this buteo as a red-shouldered, and broad-winged hadn't crossed my mind given the time of year. But Nathan Lynch's photos showed a wide pale band on the tail that was broader than the other bands (unlike similarly-sized bands on a RSHA). Plus the head and bib were a chocolate brown rather than orange. Small bill with yellow at the base, very compact buteo."

- Comments: "Perched high above picnic tables on Wellhouse Drive. We initially though it was a Red-shouldered but after reviewing photos from other in our party determined it was a Broad-winged due to the broad tail bands, brown chest & streaking on belly."
