Thursday 2nd Wave

The birds wasted no time after Tuesday's wave. Thursday was a good one. With hi lights and good birds both in Prospect and Greenwood Cemetery, good diversity reigned.

Prospect had 113 species, of which 23 warbler species were observed. Top birds were Hooded warbler, Cape May,Wormeating,Tennessee,Wilsons, and Bay breasted. The Hooded is along the path woods between Lower pool and Esdale Bridge with reports it visited the waterfall.

Also on the Prospect list are good sparrows. Lincoln,White crowned and Field come to mind.

A Solitary sandpiper and Rusty Black bird were water species also around.

Meanwhile over in the cemetery, the Prothonotary Warbler as well as a Hooded were Dellwater visitors.A report I posted from "MICH" showed her/his seeing 21 warbler species so Greenwood was great as well. A quick look at the GWC checklist shows 99 species.

Friday - per Birdcast-may see straggling birds so if you have the time, go birding!
