In association with the Prospect Park Landscape Management department, a small group of dedicated BBC members have worked for several years maintaining Butterfly Meadow and other areas on Lookout Hill. Its grown from a weed-infested plot to a wonderful bird and butterfly habitat.
We could use two or three more volunteers for the upcoming season. We meet every other Wednesday morning, from 9 a.m. until 11:30, from Sept-November, and then again from around April-June. The work consists of weeding and planting and is not usually too strenuous.
Note, we need volunteers that can commit to coming on a regular basis (every two weeks.) If you need to miss one here and there that's fine, but please be able to make the majority of the sessions.
We plan to start the fall season on Wednesday, September 14th so if you are interested in helping out, please email us at membership@brooklynbirdclub.org
