While welcome, the first rain in weeks had to happen just as our walk started! We decided to head straight to the Pier 3 lawn, where some sparrows have been feeding this week.
On our way, we spotted a smallish dark duck flying in from the harbor, showing a thickish white stripe under the wings. Upon reaching land, it did a u-turn and went back out to the water. Studying guides later, I'm confident we had a blue-winged teal.
Hoping for better weather next week!
