Yesterday afternoon, a bird I missed after work and due to my fault not looking down from the bridge as I passed thru the Ravine, a LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH made its first appearance in Spring '17 Prospect Park.
Kathy Toomey spotted the shoreline loving critter along the lower Ravine Creek just before the Nethermead "Three arches" bridge. Its a great looking bird with that bright white super cilium, the first and earlier water thrush species that pass along thru the Atlantic Flyway.
SO I'm hoping the rains kept this bird down as I go looking for it.
