Warm temperatures kept the flow going as PINE , PALM and YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERs dominate , albeit lesser numbers, mostly the first two species thru Prospect woods, especially the Lullwater. Rob Jett mentioned 4 PINES were seen along the bridle trail behind Lily Pool.
The two RUSTY BLACKBIRDs continue that I saw well on the shore of Ambergill Pool adjacent to the giant Bald Cypress tree.It may be more than 2 birds in the park
GOLDEN CROWNED KINGLET numbers fell off, after yesterday's high numbers, they on their way to their northern boreal forests breeding grounds. But today's RUBY CROWNED KINGLET may be the first of certainly more to come. A couple of HERMIT THRUSHES were observed, another yet to peak species like the Kinglet to fill our woods. A CHIPPING SPARROW hung around 5 PINE SISKINS on Butterfly Meadow this morning
A COMMON LOON flew over, the park's first sighting this year. Expect more if you look up often.
Duck numbers are falling as well but diversity remains good for the park this late in the season for waterfowl.
