2012 Prospect Park Recap bird species

A finally completed task after all data from birders was input into the office Filepro bird records database. This is the truer record seperate from cornell ebirds as Filepro is strictly regulated for records validity .Thanks to office assistant Margie Barret for entering the tremendous amount of data. I just designated the " first time species" this morning ( rainy day task)

The total number species was 195. Top bird species were obviously first time Prospect sighting BARNACLE GOOSE and WESTERN KINGBIRD. Other Prospect notables was SWALLOWTAIL KITE and winter finches; first ever breeding record of Great Horned Owl 

The first time species status obviously spilled over to this year with the March and April sightings ( Varied Thursh, Says Phoebe) so the streak continues.

the horizonal order is by species, location, number seen and date first recorded ( which is vertically how the species are arranged).
