| Thursday, May 9th, 6:30 P.M. Insects! Presenter: Steve Nanz | Several years after moving to New York City from Wisconsin, Steve would walk his dog in Prospect Park, and there encounter birders. Their generosity and enthusiasm for sharing their remarkable finds rekindled in Steve his childhood interest in nature. The next thing he knew, he'd bought a pair of Swift binoculars and hauled out his college Pentax 35mm camera, and was spending every free moment on his new obsession. He has not stopped since. Steve has been an active member in the New York birding community, leading bird and insect field trips and presenting slide talks. And, although his pursuits have taken him far afield, his greatest pleasure remains opening eyes to the wildlife closest to home. |
