Prospect, north wind brings in the Wilson's and the spot

The persistent north wind is drawing on our nerves: when will it change ?  We would like it to be south for a change. ( we may get our wish, a storm system from the south  tonight) Hopefully this weekend might be a change in our  fortunes.

The highlight today no doubt is WILSON's SNIPE , found by Kristin Costello, in the vicinity of the Lakeside Rink shoreline. Rob Bate tweeted it as in the area between Duck and Music Islands .Word from Adam said it was flying within the south Lullwater ( south of the Terrace Bridge). A SPOTTED SANDPIPER also came along, seen in the same spot generally.

BLUE-WINGED TEAL ( Adam Welz)  stuck around, the good duck still a must see here in Prospect.

One BANK SWALLOW was reported by RBate, over the likely spot , Prospect Lake, with other swallows.

Other stuff is around the usual PINE , PALMS,WORM-EATING WARBLER and a BLACK-THROATED GREEN WARBLER. With the latter, two locations were mentioned, the Rustic Arbor and on the opposite side of Breeze, at the hairpin turn slope path. WORM-EATING WARBLER is still around , found by Paige Linden at the back shore of Upper Pool.Doing fence repair nearby, I went to look for it when Paige got my attention, but unfortunately, a woman dog owner likely placed her small terrier behind the fence in the woods, whereas the bird flushed before I got there...( grrr)

Look forward to the weekend, do get out ,there bound to be some birds ( I hope..fingers crossed) in this delayed migration for the quality birds ( has anybody seen oriole or kingbird yet ?)
