Prospect : possible second MOWA

KB note: Possibility of a second MOURNING WARBLER ( MOWA) , seen in the north Midwood, per Adam.See his report

Hi All

This evening I decided to walk across the park on the way back from an errand with half a mind to look for the Mourning Warbler down south. As I came off the southern end of Nellie's Lawn into the Midwood I heard an unfamiliar (and quite loud) chipping and -- whoa -- right in front of me was a nice bright Mourning Warbler. I watched the bird for a while chasing both male and female Common Yellowthroats and being chased by an un-identified Empidonax (read my Twitterstream @AdamWelzBirds for more precise directions). While watching it I heard identical-sounding chipping from about 50 yards away, closer to the Broken Steps, but could not confirm visually that there was a second Mourning around. There was a Gray-cheeked Thrush in the same area along with a Swainson's.

A light downpour cut my birding short, hence the depauperate list, tho I did get one Northern Rough-winged Swallow through the rain on the Lake as I was leaving.
Cheers!
Adam
