A long club walk yesterday to Staten island is this belated report of a rare LEAST BITTERN seen in Prospect yesterday. And following suit are observed vulture kettles in the vicinity.
Mike Elfassy found a Least BITTERN in the phragmites across from Well Drive shipping containers while leading the beginners walk. The BITTERN was tracked farther down the Peninsula meadow shoreline .
A kettle of vultures were observed over Sunset Park region to eventual easterly movement over Greenwood Cemetery then Prospect. Hiding in that particular kettle, a BROADWINGED HAWK was spotted. Another vulture kettle was reported over Brooklyn Bridge Park.
