After a heads up from a birder, I inquired the Jamaica Baykeeper over this closure. It is because Plumb Beach shoreline is being restored by a major dredge company ,pumping back 127,000 cubic yards of sand plus a new groin or jetty will be built to stop the eastward erosion of sand into the channel.
So a heads up for anyone looking to bird PB this next week.
