2013 Spring Marsh Planting Update
Greetings Volunteers!

Hopefully you all are still as excited about this upcoming project as we are! If so, we have some great news. The dates are here!

Click on the white dates to sign up for that day's planting. Please sign up only if you are at least 95% positive that you will be able to join us. Your name will go on the sign-in list, and we will be expecting you.
Please provide a valid email address when signing up. This will be our main method of contact.

As you can imagine, for both your safety and ours, all dates are subject to weather. If a date is postponed, we will notify you.
9am-1pm
Our very first day of community-led marsh planting. Families, we would prefer if you and your children participate on one of the later scheduled days.
11am-3pm
Our second day of planting. We should have the process pretty well under control by now. Families and individuals of all ages are welcome!
If you're looking for a fun and educational to refresh yourselves afterward, consider one of our highly recommended cruises here.

Girl Scouts planting beachgrass
12pm-4pm
Our third, and probably last day of planting. Help us finish up the restoration on Ruler's Bar marsh!

Notice

We will be transporting people to the island via boat. The trip will be short, but please make sure you are comfortable with this method of transport. Plenty of life jackets will be on board.

When getting to Broad Channel, keep in mind the fact that subway lines have not yet been repaired. The easiest way to reach the sign-in area is by taking an A-Train towards Lefferts Blvd or Howard Beach/ JFK to Rockaway Blvd, and then transferring to a Q52 or Q53 Limited bus via the exit nearest the rear of the train.

Feel free to contact us with any questions regarding the dates, location, or transportation routes. We can be reached at donriepe@gmail.com.

Sincerely,

Don Riepe
