Prospect April 26th

Hilights were 1st of year male adult ORCHARD ORIOLE at Nellies Lawn north edge,2  COMMON RAVENs harassed over lullwater  by different bird species, RUSTY BLACKBIRD, PURPLE FINCH and the assortment of previously reported consistent warblers including WORM-EATING WARBLER still hanging out,and last,  GREEN HERON building a nest

Comments : Not many reports today ,obviously a slowdown but whether the wind is south or north, the opportunities are there by getting out. Lullwater continues to be the best spot  for activity

Reports

Adam :

Had a patchy session in the park this morning. My f o s Orchard Oriole was in the same area that the Lawrence's was yesterday (I had a Baltimore nearby yesterday), which was nice, but overall the day was a little slow. The northern section of the park was amazingly warbler-free to begin with -- the vast majority of the Yellow-rumps, Palms were down in the Lullwater. I didn't survey the Lake or the Peninsula. Beautiful, sunny morning though!
Cheers

Adam

Ania Greszik

Hi Peter,

I saw a tweet from Keir earlier today that two ravens were spotted over
Lullwater. I wanted to mention that I had a (single) raven flyover my apartment
by Greenwood Cemetery yesterday around 10:30AM. It appeared to be missing a tail
feather or two.

I also had an Ovenbird and Nashville Warbler in native flora at BBG yesterday.
Must have just missed the gc flycatcher.

Good birding!
Ania

It seems pretty close to where last years nest was though I did not know exactly where it was.
