Some standout warblers surfaced today in Prospect as migration took a break ( it slowed down) , motivation still high for birders in their pursuits.
First, if you still looking for Prothonotary warbler,. Head for the Lullwater Bridge ,opposite the boathouse. Here at the southeast end of the bridge, it was calling and seen.
To the northwest at Lookout Hill, a male Hooded Warbler hung out on the north slope.
Then in early afternoon, the prizes Kentucky Warbler still linger. It was reported on the path going from the Zoo north Compost yard towards the Rose Garden ( above the Vale Cashmere). This eastern fringe area is known as the Ghost Forest, named by the resources office.
