- Prospect Park, Kings, New York
- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&q=40.6602841,-73.9689534&ll=40.6602841,-73.9689534
- Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S402611396
- Media: 2 Photos
- Comments: "Flagged as rare, though we seem to get a handful each fall. First seen on the ballfields between Nos. 2 and 3 and then followed as offleash dogs flushed them far west along the fence line and then all the way back toward the dugouts again. Big, chunky sparrows with big, complete white eyerings—I always think they look as surprised to see me as I am to see them-/made prominent by the fact that the rest of the bird is a little blurry in its plumage, not as sharply streaked as a Savannah Sparrow. Immediately it seemed like there might be more than one around and soon enough there were two foraging together. Photos."
Mourning Warbler (Geothlypis philadelphia) (1)
- Reported Oct 15, 2026 14:46 by Jack Bechtel
- Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Kings, New York
- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&q=40.6680222,-73.96367&ll=40.6680222,-73.96367
- Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S402611066
- Comments: "Low skulky warbler in low brush along water at Alfred Jenkins bridge. Imm. Bird. Large fairly heavy bodied warbler, olive gray over back with yellow belly coming up into throat. Very difficult to see after initial sighting flying low over the bridge and briefly perching in dogwood fairly exposed. Distinguished from COYE initially by size, but repeatedly called which assisted in ID confirmation separation from Connecticut warbler. Also responded to mourning warbler chip-call playback. Seems late."
