While I was photographing this cold killdeer near lakeside, a woodcock flew by and landed in the reeds. Later I saw two more woodcocks walking down the path in the ravine near Empire/Flatbush entrance. A little further on I looked up to see a redtail eating a woodcock, long orange legs splayed along the branch. A n Eastern phoebe was hawking insects behind the green containers nearby.
