Least Bittern Prospect

Donna Evans reported the species in the phragmites marsh patch along Well Drive in front of the 3 Shipping containers.

The bittern was seen perched at top of a reed around 330 during a hard rainfall.A photo was taken.

Unfortunately I was having an early family dinner and my phone was not in reach. The Bittern by then descended into the reeds.

This spot was known previously for Virginia rail a year ago.

Kudos to Donna going out in the ugly weather and getting rewarded with a great bird.
