a late afternoon Ambergill gathering

A gathering of birders after separate ways convened at the Ambergill creek shaded road. A hot day is enticement for warblers and other birds needing water to cool off and bathe. The Ambergill creek is the right place to be viewing birds.

A bunch of us - me,Kathy,Karen,Dan,Kena, later Jennifer,Linda - watched at some point species coming into the water.WARBLING VIREO,YELLOW WARBLER,BLACK THROATED BLUE WARBLER,NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH,EASTERN KINGBIRD were some special ones.

Just 20 minute's earlier, Linda Evans spotted a WORM EATING WARBLER while we were with her. On the up slope in the Ravine, the pretty warbler moved along the ground before flying low to dead leaves that attracts this species looking for insects. A little more walking down the ravine path, again Linda good spotting nailed us a male RUBY THROATED HUMMINGBIRD. Me and Kathy Toomey were lucky birders.
