Ballfield vesper

Prospect sees its first fall VESPER SPARROW ,a rarity that's annual and a good bird to find.

Karen O'hearn reported the finding at field 2 before it flushed by a raptor. Later the Vesper sparrow in early afternoon was found by Kathy Toomey at field 3 the adjacent field both sharing a protective alley between the dugouts. It's best though to bird the area between 9 am and 3 pm after the dogs and before the school  track runnersat western Long Meadow.

Another good bird appeared at Greenwood cemetery. A RED HEADED WOODPECKER perched on a Ginkgo tree along the Warrior path which is near the soldiers of civil war monument. The observer was Linda Ewing
