Where are the Prospect sparrows?

I spent a little time birding prospect mid morning with intention of finding sparrows.  For this middle October date, we should be peaked with them. Unfortunately I found only one spot with a decent number.

The Prospect ballfields field 2 third base line offered the best for today. The fence along the dugout shield the birds as they feed within the grass blades. Several Savannah Sparrows fed along with about 8 Chipping s. That was about it. Later with Rafael Campos we found nearly 12 Chippings at field 6.

The best hilight regards the Wood Duck. Looking thru a now open understory clearing from the Long Meadow fence at Lower Pool,I counted 18 of this species in the left corner. The Drake's are looking finely plumaged.

The tweet hilight for today was sent by Kathy Toomey over at Greenwood cemetery. The hillside grassland near the chapel or by a path there saw an AMERICAN WOODCOCK.

A puzzling month for sparrows though have us hoping for a month end flourish.
