Well just a theory. Divide Prospect at Center drive. Which half has more woods? North side quaker ridge, midwood then north woods ( Vale Cashmere area). So songbirds like the woods obviously.
And according to scientists,its proven birds fly at night lifting off one hour after the sunset they see to orient their way. They supposedly fly 6 to 7 hours straight then descend.. Soi.e. 8 pm takeoff,they arrive in prospect around 2 to 3 in the morning,landing mostly in quaker ridge cemetery , Midwood towards upper ridge /ravine & Payne hill where they start feeding ,always moving thru northward in the next 5 hours ...so by 8 am they are mostly in the northern woods....
Lookout hill is great but its the barrier effect it has after the lake where obviously songbirds can't land on... Most of south section [of Prospect] is water which attract water inclined birds like CYT, water thrushes..etc but for majority of warblers they want the woods hence firstly Quaker Ridge,Midwood, quaker ridge, etc.
