Hey Peter,

We had a small but experienced group today and there was good activity around the south and east side of Lookout. Rain cut the walk short a little after 11, but we still managed over 50 species after a night of SW winds.

The highlights for me were a quick Peregrine flyby after we entered the park, a Sharp-shinned Hawk flyover, a White-eyed Vireo at the Butterfly Meadow, and Cape May and Wilson's Warblers in the Wellhouse area. Thanks to Ed for picking out a Brown Thrasher at the Butterfly Meadow (a few got on it, though I only heard it) and a Yellow-billed Cuckoo too.

A few folks missed our group in the morning since they were waiting by the playground, whereas I recalled the meeting point being at the entrance to the park. But we linked up at the Peninsula Meadow before the rain and they had found lots of birds on a dogwood in the Vale. So everyone seemed happy.

Best,
Ryan
