A good day as one would expect with Northwest winds the engine for fall migration. Three parks or green spaces benefited greatly with good birds and diverse lists. The following is a summary of those top birds.
Top of the morning is CONNECTICUT WARBLER. Spotted along the Dellwater top edge in Greenwood cemetery by Doug Gochfeld, the rare furtive warbler stuck it out all day on that slope.
Several fly catchers namely Empidonaxes piqued interest. Around Crescent and Dellwater, prized YELLOW BELLIED accompanied Least and Willow .
An early Ruby crowned Kinglet crashed in as well in GWC.
Meanwhile over in Prospect, theres good action. The LAWRENCE WARBLER is the headliner, this hybrid was spotted by Karen Ohearn at Lookout Hills switchback trail which start upward near the Maryland Monument.Both cuckoo species were recorded, the BLACKBILLED juvenile I was lucky to see it at Butterfly Meadow ( a big thanks to Ryan Mandlebaum getting me on the bird; and to the gentleman finding it first I believed Jeremy Nadel). see previous posts for details.
A nice find perched at the top of the dead ash tree was an OLIVE SIDED FLY CATCHER. Look for this tree at Butterfly meadows west slope.
For the numbers crunchers,72 species for Prospect,including 17 warbler species.

Lastly,Brooklyn Bridge Park has a say as well. On pier 6 a female Hooded Warbler appeared. Pier 6 harbored as well Lincolns Sparrow.On pier One there's an early Palm Warbler.
