Prospect Solitary records

Charles Tang report yesterday of 5 solitary sand pipers at the 10th avenue lawn puddle is an exceptional sighting. I mentioned later that 9 were reported in Sept 2010 by Doug Gochfeld; the latter observation consisted of three seperated flyovers, one 6 birds together. But that date isnt the record.

A further look revealed the highest single day solitary sandpaper number is 11 (eleven) set way back on may 11,1965-- 56 years ago! Since it was a data converted record from an old database into Ebird,no observer name is listed.
